Datastick VSA 1212 Module | Datastick Spectrum Software | Reporting Software
The VSA-1212 hardware module is part of the VSA-1212 Vibration Spectrum Analyzer system, which consists of the VSA-1212 module,Datastick Spectrum software for Palm Powered® handheld computers and Datastick Reporting System VSA software for Windows® PCs.Key Features* Uses IEPE®-type piezoelectric accelerometers (Wilcoxon Research, Inc sensor, cable and magnetic mount supplied with each system) and trending The Datastick VSA-1212 module attaches securely to the back of a Palm Powered handheld computer. It is the hardware interface component of the Datastick VSA-1212 Vibration Spectrum Analyzer system, which also includes Datastick Spectrum handheld software and Datastick Reporting System PC software. Up to 22 MB of recorded waveform and spectrum data (approximately 700 captures) can be stored in the recommended Garmin® iQue® 3200 or iQue 3600 handheld computer. That's enough to store data from more than one thousand inspection checkpoints. With a single touch of a button and one mouse-click, data can be exported to Datastick Reporting System software on the PC for analysis, trending, reporting and archiving. Compact size and the straightforward operation of the Datastick Spectrum software make the VSA-1212 an excellent tool for route-based inspections, troubleshooting, and field service. The VSA-1212's affordable price and ease of use make it possible for even the smallest facility to enjoy increased productivity resulting from monitoring and analyzing machine vibration in predictive maintenance. DATASTICK 1214 VIBRATION SPECTRUM ANALYZER MODULE
Applications
Description The Datastick VSA-1214 Vibration Spectrum Analyzer is Datastick's new-generation low-cost tool for vibration analysis and data collection. Paired with the Palm® TX handheld computer, it offers increased storage capacity and security, longer battery life, larger display, and improved performance compared to the VSA-1212. The VSA-1214 hardware module attaches to a high-performance Palm TX handheld computer and has a standard BNC connector and low-noise input that accommodates and powers almost any ICP®-type piezoelectric accelerometer. The VSA-1214 includes Datastick Spectrum handheld software and Datastick Reporting System™ PC software. The VSA-1214 records and displays vibration FFT spectra in acceleration, velocity, and displacement, as well as acceleration waveforms. It also records and displays overall vibration with color-coded ISO (or custom) alert levels. For a full description of the display capabilities, see the description of Datastick Spectrum handheld software. More Power The VSA-1214 hardware module contains its own rechargeable Li-ion battery, which in normal use will last up to twice as long as the VSA-1212 on a single charge. An optional 3000 mA/h rechargeable external bettey pack is available if you need more power, and it gives you the added benefit of powering BOTH the VSA-1214 module and the Palm TX handheld computer. Low Noise A highly optimized design allows the VSA-1214 to find low-level, low-frequency peaks that can't be seen on equipment that costs three or four times as much. For more information, please see the full description of the VSA-1214 module . Sharp Color Display and Secure Storage The Palm TX has a unique rotating display which allows you to to view data in either vertical (portrait) or horizontal (landscape) orientations on its bright, razor-sharp 480 x 320 pixel screen. The Palm TX also features 100 MB of nonvolatile memory which keeps your data safe even if the battery drains all the way (which is highly unlikely, due to its efficient power management). Virtually Unlimited Storage The VSA-1214 provides virtually unlimited, extremely secure storage capacity. In addition to the Palm TX handheld's 100 MB of nonvolatile memory which will hold approximately 3000 spectra or waveforms. The VSA-1214 also lets you record data directly to a Secure Digital (SD) memory card, which you can insert into the handheld computer. The VSA-1214 supports SD cards of up to 2 GB capacity, and you can use as many cards as you like — you'll never run out of space. At the end of the day, simply insert the SD card into a card reader on your PC to export the handheld data to your PC, or you can use the Palm handheld's HotSync® feature single to export data to your PC with a touch of a button. With another couple of mouse-clicks, your data is imported into Datastick Reporting System software on the PC for analysis, trending, reporting, and archiving. Compact size and the straightforward operation of the Datastick Spectrum software make the VSA-1214 an excellent vibration analyzer / data collector for route-based inspections, troubleshooting, and field service. The VSA-1214's affordable price and ease of use make it possible for even the smallest facility to enjoy increased productivity resulting from monitoring and analyzing machine vibration in predictive maintenance. DATASTICK 1215 VIBRATION SPECTRUM ANALYZER MODULE
Applications
Description The VSA-1215 Vibration Spectrum Analyzer is Datastick's high-performance vibration analyzer / data collector. It has twice the maximum frequency capability (20,000 Hz) and twice the FFT resolution (3,200 lines) as the VSA-1214. The VSA-1215 hardware module attaches to a powerful Palm TX handheld computer and has a standard BNC connector a low-noise input that accommodates and powers almost any ICP®-type piezoelectric accelerometer. The VSA-1215 includes Datastick Spectrum handheld software and Datastick Reporting System™ PC software. The VSA-1215 records and displays vibration FFT spectra in acceleration, velocity, and displacement, as well as acceleration waveforms. It also records and displays overall vibration with color-coded ISO (or custom) alert levels. For a full description of the display capabilities, see the description of Datastick Spectrum handheld software. You Control the Power The VSA-1215 hardware module contains its own rechargeable Li-ion battery and advanced power management capabilities that put you in full control of sensor power allowing you to determine the exact amount of power output to the sensor. You can easily go all day on a single charge. An optional 3000 mA/h rechargeable external bettey pack is available if you need more power, and it gives you the added benefit of powering BOTH the VSA-1215 module and the Palm TX handheld computer. For more information, please see the full description of the VSA-1215 module. Extremely Low Noise As good as the VSA-1214 is, the VSA-1215 does even better at finding low-level, low-frequency peaks. A typical noise floor at 4 Hz on a velocity spectrum made with an accelerometer is 0.0013 inches per second in the 2 g input range. If you need even lower noise, the VSA-1215 accepts ICP-type velocity sensors as well as accelerometers. For more information, please see the full description of the VSA-1215 module . Sharp Color Display and Secure Storage The Palm TX has a unique rotating display which allows you to to view data in either vertical (portrait) or horizontal (landscape) orientations on its bright, razor-sharp 480 x 320 pixel screen.
