A
Low Cost Solution to Plant Wide Machine Condition
Trending
Wilcoxon's complete family of two-wire 4-20ma
vibration transmitters offer a low cost
alternative to machine condition monitoring
for today's plant operators, especially those
with limited budgets. At under $500.00 each,
Wilcoxon's PC420 Series Vibration Transmitter line
of products can be easily installed
on any machine. They make use of the
customer's prior investment in DCS or PLC
hardware systems for continuous vibration
display, alarming on high vibration and data
storage for long term trending
Transmitter - A single
stainless steel, hermetically sealed body houses
both the primary sensor and the measurement
electronics in a simple package that is easy
to install. Different measurement ranges can
be specified to suit most applications. A
combination 2-wire shielded cable and 2-socket
connector carry the vibration signal to the
customer's monitoring equipment
Configurations
- Transmitters can be supplied to measure
acceleration, velocity or displacement as may be
required by the equipment to be monitored.
Side or top electrical exits provide further
installation flexibility. RMS, Peak and True
Peak scaling allows the customer to select the
transmitter that will be most sensitive to his
machine condition. Dual output models add
either simultaneous temperature measurement
or dynamic output to aid the local vibration
analyst.
System Integration - the
universally accepted 4-20 ma vibration signals can
be wired directly to todays traditional analog and
digitial process monitors and controllers.
Existing DCS or PLC's can be equipped with 4-20 ma
input boards allowing the customer to make further
use of his prior control system investment.
Machine Condition
Trending and Protection -
DCS / PLCs etc provide:
- instantaneous display of machine vibration
- alarm on rising or falling levels averting
costly or catastrophic failures,
- trend vibration level data over time
which can provide meaningfull historical data to
plant operators and machine specialists when a
fault is detected
Economical to install
- no major system investment need be incurred
since in most cases the vibration signals can be
used by existing plant equipment. At an
incremental cost of $500.00 per measurement
point, small numbers of transmitters can be
installed at a time making it easy on both your
budget and installation resources.
